British sailor Elliot Hanson’s 6th place overall saw him rise a massive nine place up to 23rd. Hanson is regularly in the top ten of ILCA 7 championships, but also benefits from helming a 5.5 Metre, winning the 2022 World Championship held in Hanko, Norway.

Norway’s Hermann Tomasgaard may have only finished 18th in the ILCA 7 class at the Trofeo Princesa Sofia, but it still helped him rise three places to 30th with 6,000 points exactly.

Rising British sailor star Micky Beckett won yet the ILCA 7 title at the Trofeo Princesa Sofia, adding 1,000 points and ten places to his SSL Global Skipper Ranking, moving him up to a career high rank of 39. Expect his stock to continue rising at the Semaine Olympique Française in Hyères.

Elsewhere there was also a big rise for 470 World Champion Luise Wanser, who finished second in Palma at the Trofeo Princesa Sofia. The 875 point she gained moved her up a massive twelve places to 32nd – her highest rank so far.

The SSL Rankings are updated every Tuesday and include 113,000 sailors (67,000 skippers and 47,000 crew), highlighting the world’s top inshore sailors across a huge range of classes. The SSL Global Ranking does not replace the rankings specific to each class but completes them, to offer a simple and attractive overview of inshore sailing to the general public.
